D Minor Chord

The D Minor Chord is a simple chord, though it can be tricky o learn it at first for beginners, but with enough practice any body can play it.

D Minor Chord requires you to put your third finger on the 3rd fret B string, your second finger on the 2nd fret G string and your first finger on the 1st fret high E string. Just as you would do with all your chords, notice which string to play for, in this case we play from the D string. Part of the trickiness of this chord is because you might feel your thumb uncomfortable while playing it, try repositioning it if so, but be careful and listen out for any muted of muffled notes. There are two main ways some people choose to play this chord, bot have their upsides and downsides, however both have been proven to work just fine if done ok.

Some people find it easier to place the fingers down the third finger first, then second and then first. This is fine if it works for you, after all the main purpose is that you find a way to position your hand that makes your feel comfortable while also allowing you to get the chord just right.

Some people find it a little easier to angle your hand a little, pointing your fingers more at your eyes than at the sky. Doesn't work for everyone, but experiment with your hand position and see what works well to get all the notes nice and clear. Although it might seem hard at first, in no time you will see that it will become easier every time.

Part of the practice required to get this note right is mainly to get you to both feel comfortable playing the D Minor Chord and getting it to sound correctly.
