E Major Chord



The E Major Chord is a chord you will find is pretty simple to play. Is very similar to playing the A Minor Chord; Pretty much you will just need to switch the strings you are playing the chord on. The E Chords are normally a great way for beginners to start learning how to play the guitar.

The E Major is a chord that is found in a lot of songs, a lot of times, you'll find it in Rock music, since is perceived as a powerful chord. If you are playing on an electric guitar, once you hit the strings, with proper gain on the amp and some distortion, you'll see what we mean by 'powerful chord'.

You can start by placing your second finger on the second fret of the 5th String. Then, place your third finger on the second fret of the 4th string. After tat, place your first finger on the first fret of the 3rd string. Once that's done, strum all the six strings and, that's it you are playing the E Major Chord. We recommend practicing first placing your fingers correctly before you worry about hitting the strings, allow your muscle memory to build up in your hand, so the feel for the chord comes naturally. Watch your finger positioning while playing, take particular notice on how your hand is placed.

While practicing this chord, we recommend you test if you are playing it correctly. Start on the 6th string, strike all of them, one at a time, make sure that each of he notes in the chords is ringing clearly.
